Itinerary

On arrival in Bangkok our guide will meet you at Suvarnabhumi Airport and take you to your hotel by limousine. You will have some time to relax and enjoy your beautiful hotel including its spa.

We can offer a wide choice of hotels in Bangkok, however for our perfect honeymoon we have chosen the Peninsula Hotel (Grand deluxe room) due to its riverside location, stylish décor and romantic views.

After a short interval at the hotel, your orientation relaxing evening begins with a drive through Bangkok’s old quarters that delivers sights of an illuminated Grand Palace, the Royal Ground, temples and the lit-up Rachadamnoen Avenue. A lavish Thai dinner and cocktails against the stunning backdrop of the Rattanakosin skyline at “The Deck” riverside restaurant will keep your night pleasurable. Then stroll along the Flower Market to see the myriad varieties of exotic orchids and sweet smelling flowers. The buzz in this market is best experienced at night during which busy vendors load their wares up and down their mopeds.

Start your day with the visit to the Grand Palace where you visit the main sites including the magnificent throne halls and the emerald Buddha. We then continue to visit Wat Po. Bangkok’s oldest temple is home to the magnificent reclining Buddha as well as the first school of traditional medicine and Thai massage and is also regarded as Thailand’s first University.

A sumptuous Thai lunch awaits you at Supatra River House. Afternoon, board a traditional private rice barge Jao Ying Noi (Little Princess) boat Cruising down the river of kings – the Chao Phraya and the quiet klongs (canals) for 2 hours, you will be taken back in time to a more traditional way of life far removed from Bangkok’s modern skyscrapers. Stops are made to visit the Temple of Dawn or Wat Arun – one of the most prominent landmarks of Bangkok in whose spire is an ineffable symbol of the “City of Angels”. We then drive you to Chinatown square where you start an interesting walk through one of the oldest parts of Bangkok. Walk along Yaowarat Road where you visit interesting shop selling birds nests and shark fins, continue to a very old teashop to enjoy a cup of Chinese tea with the locals before heading down Trok Leng Moi Eia (a small soi)to Talad Kao for an interesting local market with variety of fresh foods, fresh & dry fruits, Chinese herbs, groceries. End the walk at Wat Leng Neng Yee to visit the Taoist temple. Return to your hotel late afternoon.

Your day starts at Wat Saket where you can acquire some spiritual insights into Buddhism as the monks chant their morning prayers. Partake in the offering of alms to the monks to gain some blessing for a healthy and safe trip. Then make a short climb up to the temple’s golden mount to enjoy the panoramic view of Rattanakosin Island while listening to the chimes of hundreds of temple bells. Continue with a drive through the historical part of Bangkok, passing some of the city’s most beautiful landmarks and temples. Along the way, we will make a stop to buy a bucket filled with food and utility items for “Sangkatarn” – a special kind of offering for monks at Wat Rathabophit. Visitors to Wat Rathabophit will be amazed by the perfect blend of Thai architectural exterior with exquisite European influenced interior. The tour will cap off at the Tiger God Shrine, one of the oldest Taoist temples in Bangkok and renowned for being the most popular worshipping place amongst the Chinese community in the country.

A lavish Thai lunch is exclusively served at the elegant Jim Thompson Restaurant. You may wish to visit Jim Thompson museum and their shops afterwards.

Afternoon, free to relax and enjoy the hotel facilities or pamper yourself with a spa treatment at the hotel.

After breakfast our guide will transfer you to the Airport to catch the flight to Chiang Mai. On arrival in the northern Thai capital, our guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.

In the afternoon you will first explore ancient Chiang Mai, including its old city walls, gates, moat and markets. After visiting Wat Suan Dok, where the ashes of Chiang Mai’s royal family are interred, and the historic Jed Yot temple, you continue to Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the temple on the mountain, and the most sacred in North Thailand. Your experienced guide will explain the story of the temple, the white elephant and lead you around its impressive chedi and show its beautiful murals. In the late afternoon, the tourist masses have already left the temple grounds and dusk will give a very special atmosphere. After your private blessing ceremony, witness the magical evening chanting of the monks. The tour ends with the spectacularly romantic evening view over Chiang Mai with its millions of glittering lights.

Enjoy an evening out at a traditional Khantoke Dinner. Your meal is served on special, low, circular tables called toke. You are served delicious Northern Thai cuisine accompanied by Northern Thai folk dancing. After the dinner, participants will light a “khom loy” and launch it in the cool night following the local belief that misfortune will be floated away…

Overnight at The Chedi, Chiang Mai.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will make the arrangement of the Thai traditional wedding, you will be dressed in Lanna wedding costumes, transfer by deluxe car to a beautiful northern Thai Buddhist temple to experience your own private blessing ceremony by the head monk. While the sweet scent of incense fills the air, the monk will bless you with water and tie a symbolically ‘binding’ string around your wrists. End the ceremony planting a love tree before returning to your hotel.

Enjoy your “Khao Soy” lunch at “Just Khao Soy” – curry noodles from its street food status to its rightful place as the signature dish of northern Thai cuisine. Each meal is served in specially designed ‘Khao Soy’ sets, consisting of 8 small ceramic condiment dishes, laid around a large ‘Khao Soy’ bowl and set on an artist’s palette.

Afternoon, free to relax at the hotel and enjoy the hotel facilities.

Overnight at The Chedi, Chiang Mai.

We drive north through the hilly, wooden area on the outskirts of Chiang Mai to the Chiang Dao elephant camp for elephant riding and a gentle bamboo raft journey down the Ping River. After lunch at a scenic local restaurant drive further North to Chiang Dao area where you visit Palaung, Akha and Lisu tribal villages. Living separately from lowland Thai’s the tribal mountain people retain a different culture and way-of life unique to every ethnic group. Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

A limousine will take you to the airport for your flight to the beautiful southern Thai island of Koh Lanta. It is just over an hour to Krabi airport, where our guide and car will be waiting to meet you and transfer you a little further south by car and speedboat to Pimalai Resort & Spa on Lanta Island.

We have chosen Pimalai as the island retreat for our perfect Thai honeymoon as it has everything a newlywed couple could want. Peace, tranquility, sunshine, a flawless white sand beach far enough away from the rest of the island’s hotels to make it blissfully peaceful. The resort covers 100 acres of lush tropical gardens and you can choose between contemporary Thai-style rooms and new pool villas. The hotel is really well managed, has excellent facilities and a truly delightful spa is designed to blend into the jungle.
